

LAHORE: A total of 4,050 patients have tested positive for dengue virus in two major government hospitals and the Institute for Public Health in Lahore.However, government figures put the number of patients in public hospitals to 1,107.According the head of Micro Biology Department of Meo Hospital, Dr. Tayyaba Aijaz out of 2000 patients brought to the hospital during the season, 1,200 patients tested positive for dengue.While 1,350 patients out of 3,000 brought to Gangaram Hospital Lahore proved to have been affected by the disease.At the Institute of Public Health Lahore 1,150 patients tested positive for the disease.These figures reflect the number of patients confirmed to have been affected by the dengue virus in the above three government run medical facilities. There is also a large number of dengue patients brought to other private clinics and hospitals.
