SAMAA TV Scholarship Program for Masters in Mass Communication: Fall 2008 Session

SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, realizes the importance of strengthening and developing human resource. SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, being a responsible corporate citizen, is launching a scholarship programme for students currently enrolled in Masters in Mass Communication (Fall 2008 session), offered at all Public sector Universities/ Degree Awarding Institutions across Pakistan. The scholarship is targeted for those, who are striving towards better education but lack the financial resources.
HEC and SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 20th October, 2008, for the joint implementation and management of SAMAA scholarship program.
Higher Education Commission (HEC), as part of its public private partnership initiative has joined hands with SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, for promotion of higher education in Pakistan. HEC is already managing a wide array of scholarship programs, sponsored by the Government of Pakistan.
This collaboration between a public entity i.e HEC and a private entity i.e SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, will serve as a model of Public Private Partnership program for other corporate entities.
Under this scholarship program, SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, has offered scholarships to ten (10) students, with an amount of Rs. 50.000/- per student. The scholarships are to be awarded on the merit-cum-need basis. This scholarship package will cover the tuition fee for two years of Master’s level studies in Mass Communication. The recipients will consist of five (05) male and five (05) female students.On completion of the education, the successful scholarship holder will upon scoring of a minimum GPA 3.0 be offered a one year job contract with SAMAA TV, JAAG BROADCASTING SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD, with a salary at par with the industry standard and in desired department.
