Small fuel stocks with OMCs affects supply

KARACHI: Shell Pakistan has denied 100 per cent supply of oil to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) which is likely to affect schedules of both domestic and international flights.Spokesman of Shell Pakistan told Geo News that parital closure of Pakistan Refinery Limited and reduction in National Refinery’s production by half has made it impossible to ensure 100 per cent supply of P-1fuel.He said the CAA has been duly informed in writing in this regard.Up to 40 per cent fuel supply of flights will remain affected for the next 10 days, making it impossible to keep schedule of the Hajj flights in Karachi and Islamabad. The current shortage will also affect supply of JP-4 and JP-8 fuels which are used in defence jets.
